On Sunday, August 22nd, Father Kevin Huber was formally installed as the new pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Crown Point. The church was founded in 1865 and Father Kevin is only the sixth pastor in its long history. Father Kevin was appointed upon the retirement of his predecessor, the beloved Father Patrick Kalich. Father Huber previously served as pastor at Queen of All Saints Church in Michigan City where he was very well-liked.

One of the first policy changes made by Father Kevin was doing away with the necessity to pre-register for Mass. All are invited to attend weekend Masses (Saturday at 4:30 PM and Sunday at 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and Noon). St. Mary’s is located at 321 E. Joliet St.

In his short time at St. Mary’s Father Kevin has already made an impact on the school. “I am so excited to have Father Kevin at St. Mary’s. He is such an engaging and energetic priest to have around our students. The lessons that he teaches in his homilies will be remembered for a lifetime,” said St. Mary’s School teacher Mary Catharine Skinner.
